Dr. Teoh has a personal passion in promoting breast cancer awareness and breast health education through various local communities and public organizations.  This has spurred her to volunteer and set up a local breast cancer support program called Pink! Penang Breast Cancer Support Group since 2009. She believes that support activities for cancer survivors is essential in helping patients recover and give each other hope and inspiration throughout.

As a mother to two exclusively breast-fed children, she counsels breast-feeding related issues and also manages breast-feeding related problems like lactational mastitis and breast abscess, helping them to avoid unnecessary surgeries, if possible. She also volunteers her expertise in several Penang breast–feeding forums and communities to share her personal experience as a breast-feeding working mom. She has successfully breast-fed both her children while working as a Surgeon, a task that is fulfilling, challenging and rewarding.
